Where we say ‘us’ we mean CRS Gas and Heating Ltd. Where we say ‘you’ we mean the customer.
We charge a diagnosis fee for each “call out” that covers a minimum of one hour at your property. This covers the costs and expertise associated with a diagnostic visit. Any parts or materials needed at the initial visit will be charged accordingly. If we can’t fix the issue during the diagnosis visit, we’ll send you a quote for the additional work that needs doing.
Hourly Rate Work
The total charge to you will consist of the cost of materials we supply (not exceeding the trade purchase price of materials + 15%) and the amount of time we spend carrying out works (including all reasonable time we spend obtaining materials not kept in stock), charged in accordance with our current hourly rates. You’ll only be charged for the time spent related to your work. Our minimum charge is for 1 hour’s work.
Recalls, Guarantees and Liability
Our work comes with a twelve-month guarantee. If you are not satisfied with our work, you must contact us, either in writing or by email, within 12 months of us finishing the work. We’ll come and inspect it and carry out the necessary remedial work at our own expense. You agree that:
3a. If you do not contact us within 12 months, we have no liability.
3b. Our insurers may inspect any work carried out by us.
3c. If we have not received payment within one month, your guarantee is void.
3d. If you don’t get your boiler serviced every year, your boiler guarantee is void.
3e. All parts supplied by us are covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. We try very hard to supply top quality parts.This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.
Things we don’t cover:
We are unable to guarantee our work, or any parts and equipment supplied to you:
3f. If parts or equipment are misused, treated negligently or if our work is modified or tampered with by anyone other than us.
3g. Where we carry out works on your behalf, using materials that you have supplied, we’re not able to establish provenance, quality, fitness for purpose or otherwise of these materials, so we cannot stand by their suitability, efficacy or durability. We cannot guarantee:
3h. Work where you order us to carry out work against the advice of our representative. This advice will be given to you either orally, or in writing. Our guarantee is also void if we indicate that further works need to be carried out and this is not done.
3i. (Because of its nature) any work to unblock waste or drainage pipes. Nor can we guarantee further damage or defects caused by work that is not fully guaranteed or where recommended further work has not been carried out.
3j. Work on existing installations that are either inferior or more than 10 years old, nor can we guarantee the effectiveness or otherwise of our work in these cases.
All pipe work existing and connecting, where we reconnect onto, will be assumed of sound integrity and tested to the first connection made.
Any existing isolators/valves pipe work is directly connected onto, will be tested and deemed sound.
Any issues arising with any pipe work or fittings or controls connected to the appliance, parts installed are not covered.
Any issues arising with existing connections need to be notified within 14 days of invoice.
We are only be liable for rectifying our own work and are not responsible for any ensuing damage or claims resulting from this or other work overlooked or subsequently requested and undertaken at that time.
All charges are subject to VAT, except in cases where the work carried out is zero rated.
Fixed Price Work is given as a firm cost, (manifest errors exempted) including Labour & Materials, and is within 10% over and above the equivalent total hourly rate cost. See above regarding VAT.
If we give you a written estimate, the total charge to you referred to in the estimate won’t exceed the actual time taken by more than 20%, but may be revised in the following circumstances:
5a. After submission of the estimate, you ask us (whether orally or in writing) to carry out additional works not referred to in the estimate.
5b. After submission of the estimate, there is an increase in the price of materials.
5c. After submission of the estimate, We find out that further works need to be carried out which were not anticipated when the estimate was prepared.
5d. After submission of the estimate, We find out that there was a manifest error when the estimate was prepared.
5e. We’re not be bound by any estimates given orally or in which specification errors occur.
Payment of Invoices
You must pay your invoices within 7 days of getting it. Any part of the invoice that remains unpaid after 7 days will accrue interest at the rate of 8% over the base rate until we get payment in full. We’ll also charge a ‘late payment’ administration charge of £40 + VAT. These charges are as recommended by HETAS on http://www.hetas.co.uk/pplatepayment/
For large contracts, or where there is a significant delay between the ‘first fix’ and ‘second fix’, We may request staged payments to cover the value of work completed to date. Where there is significant expenditure on materials prior to work starting (over £2000), We may ask for an up-front payment to cover the cost of these materials.
If you cancel your instructions before we carry out any work or supply any materials, you’re liable for any related expenditure together with the profit that we would have made had the work been carried out &/or materials supplied.
